PAG is leading a 2020 Census regional awareness campaign to improve the accuracy of the April 1, 2020, count in our region.

An Arizona undercount of just 1 percent could mean the loss of $56.6 million to the state, based on the 2010 count and federal distribution. The “Count me in!” regional awareness campaign encourages everyone to be counted because state, regional and local programs and services are dependent on an accurate Arizona count. The process to complete the census form will be easy, secure and, above all, collect the data needed to make informed decisions that will support those programs and services.

An accurate count will help position the region for quality growth and ensure that the diverse needs of our populations are met, but it will take the efforts of many, not just a few.

Census Toolkit

PAG has developed census educational materials for member jurisdictions and coalition partners to download and share. The materials focus on hard-to-count populations in the region, including: 0-4/young children; 18-24/young adults; low income persons, non-English speakers/racial and ethnic minorities.

The 2020 census form is now available online

You should have received an invitation in the mail to respond online, by phone or by mail. It’s your choice. If you complete your form by early May, census takers will only visit households that have not submitted a form. Complete one form per household and shape the future.

Thanks for participating in this mandatory count that leads to fair government representation, equitable public funding and accurate statistics that portray an updated snapshot of our nation. All personal information remains confidential.
