PAG is leading a 2020 Census regional awareness campaign to improve the accuracy of the April 1, 2020, count in our region.
An Arizona undercount of just 1 percent could mean the loss of $56.6 million to the state, based on the 2010 count and federal distribution for a single FY 2015 program. The “Count me in!” regional awareness campaign encourages everyone to be counted because state, regional and local programs and services are dependent on an accurate Arizona count. The process to complete the census form will be easy, secure and, above all, collect the data needed to make informed decisions that will support those programs and services.
An accurate count will help position the region for quality growth and ensure that the diverse needs of our populations are met, but it will take the efforts of many, not just a few.
PAG is developing a marketing collateral toolkit to be available in late spring for PAG member jurisdictions and the PAG 2020 Census Coalition organizations to access for their use to communicate the important 2020 Census message to their respective audiences.
