The Regional Freight Plan Task Force, an adhoc committee of Pima Association of Governments' Economic Vitality Advisory Committee, will guide the process of the development of a comprehensive, multimodal regional freight plan.
The new plan will identify recommendations to improve the freight transportation system in order to enhance the freight network and the region’s economic vitality and competitiveness.
The planning process will use a region‐specific qualitative and quantitative approach to address stakeholder needs, issues and recommendations. The regional freight plan will identify the following:
- The region’s primary freight modes
- System needs and deficiencies
- Strategies to improve freight mobility
- Strategies to minimize negative impacts to safety, the environment and quality of life
The regional freight plan will be completed by spring 2018. For more information about PAG's freight planning efforts, please click here.
